The Best Latte You’ll Ever Have
There’s something unquestionably comforting about enjoying a warm cup of coffee before you start your day. This coconut milk latté gives you a morning dose of caffeine and healthy fat to get your blood pumping. It’s nondairy, it’s delicious, and it’s easy as pie.
Best Latte Ingredients
8 oz prepared coffee or espresso
1/4 cup coconut milk
1 tsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp Tisthe Seasoning*
All coconut milks are not created equal: There are a few dozen coconut milk varieties on the market, but you’ll want the full fat type in the 16oz can that folks typically use for curries or soups–not the dairy alternative that you find next to refrigerated soy and nut milks. Check your local Asian market or the international aisle of your regular grocery store. Sometimes these cans of coconut milk will settle–just give it a stir and you’re good!
Best Latte Instructions
Make your coffee however you choose! Brewed, french press, espresso–whatever puts the perk in your percolator. We suggest starting with a dark roast and adding a little less water than usual, you want your coffee on the muddier side for this one.
Combine coconut milk with brown sugar and Tisthe seasoning in a steamer or in a small pot. Heat until frothy and sugar has dissolved.
Stir the coconut milk mixture into your coffee and enjoy.
If you prefer iced coffee: Make a big pitcher of indulgent iced coffee for a quick morning treat! Warm the whole 16oz can of coconut milk and add 2 1/2 tbsp brown sugar and 1 tbsp Tisthe seasoning. Stir until sugar is dissolved, combine with coffee and refrigerate in a sealed container.
*Tisthe seasoning is from our exclusive Smelly’s Brunch line of spice blends! It’s included in our Terra Kit. Still not sold? Give this a go with some regular old cinnamon in place of the Tisthe. It won’t be quite the same, but it’ll still be quite the treat.
